I’m installing the DSE Configuration Suite Software on more than one PC. Do I have to download the updates from the Internet on every computer?
When
the DSE Configuration Suite is installed, two useful tools are installed automatically
at the same time. The
Export Configuration tool allows you to export the update files from the first
PC to an external USB drive. The
update from local source allows you to update the other computers from the USB
drive.
02
Do you have any information on how to replace obsolete control modules?
Please see the attached document for comprehensive details on replacements for our obsolete products. Issue 27
03
I have connected my DSE module/charger to my PC via USB cable. The DSE Configuration Suite states ‘No Modules Connected’. What should I do?
Try using
a different USB Port on your PC, power cycle the DSE module or restart the
Configuration Suite PC Software. If these procedures fail to resolve the
issue uninstall the DSE Configuration Suite PC Software and then reinstall
it.
Do I need to fit breaker auxiliary contacts to my DSE ATS Controller?
The
installation of auxiliary contacts is optional with the DSE 33X range of
controllers. If the contactor auxiliary contacts are not fitted to the
modules inputs, the on load indication lamps will follow whichever load
contactor is closed
02
My cooling timer has expired but my engine is still running. What should I do?
Check the
cooling timer in the Genset controller is suitable for the application.
03
Which ATS controller is most suited for a system with two mains supplies to select one available supply from two?
DSE334 and
DSE335 are designed specifically to support this application.
What size charger should I use for a battery that regularly discharges to a low level?
This
usually means you require a fast recharge time. Use
a larger charger, with a current rating 10% of the Ah capacity of the
battery. For example, for a 100 Ah battery, use a charger up to 10 A. If
you want to charge at a rate more than this, check first with your battery
manufacturer.
02
Can I use DSE chargers to supply a standing panel load?
Yes. DSE
chargers can be used as power supplies or as a PSU to supply a standing load.
03
Is it possible to install DSE battery chargers in series to achieve a higher voltage or in parallel to achieve a higher current output?
Yes. DSE
battery charger outputs can be connected in parallel for a higher current
rating or in series for a higher voltage rating.
When I try to compile I get an error about missing libraries.
Verify that you have installed the DSE package and that the version of CODESYS is 3.5 SP7 Patch 2. Alternatively you can use the function 'Download Missing Libraries' within the Library Manager.
02
CODESYS shows an error of version mismatch when I try to connect to my device.
Scan the device and check that the target version of the online controller is the same as the version of the device within your project.
03
CODESYS can find my device but I am unable to download start/stop/remove the application.
Check that the program enable is connected or that the debug mode is active.
Recycle your electrical and electronic devices for free at your local recycling centre (UK Only).
To find your nearest recycling centre visit the Recycle More website and enter your postcode.
WHY SHOULD YOU RECYCLE?
Unwanted electrical equipment is the UK’s fastest growing type of waste. Many electrical items
can be repaired or recycled, saving natural resources and the environment. To remind you that old
electrical equipment can be recycled it is marked with a crossed out wheelie bin symbol. Please do
not throw any electrical equipment (including those marked with this symbol) in your bin.
WHAT IS WEEE?
The Waste Electrical or Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive required countries to maximise
separate collection and environmentally friendly processing of these items.
HOW ARE DSE HELPING?
In the UK, suppliers of electronics, such as DSE must provide a system which allows all customers buying
new electrical equipment the opportunity to recycle old items free of charge. As a responsible supplier,
we have met the requirements placed on us by financially supporting the network of WEEE recycling
centres established by local authorities. This is achieved by supporting through membership of the
national Distributor Take Back Scheme (DTS). To find out more information on WEEE recycling and to
locate your nearest recycling centre please visit the Recycle
More website.
